The Real Me By Casey McMillin

The Real Me (How To Tame A Heartbreaker #4)

E-Book Price: $2.99

Rating: 4/5

Review:
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

I was so excited for the next installment of this series because I feel like I have been teased with Cam the whole time. Cam is the biggest thing in Nashville right now and I am happy we finally get to know him more than just the guy who gets all the girls and is the life of the party.

I think when the story starts Cam is mid-almost breakdown from being famous. Cam who usually has no problem being in the limelight starts going places alone in disguise to meet people. Almost to prove to himself that people will still like him if he wasn't famous.  Cam finds himself in a bar he usually wouldn't hang out it when he catches a glimpse of the bartender, Jax. Seeing that she is already surrounded by every guy in the place he quickly turns his attention to an easier target but finds himself unable to get Jax out of his head.

Jax is a bartender/student/preachers daughter who is determined that she will not date anyone she works with or meets at the bar. Which seems to work out pretty well for her until she finds herself giving into a certain customer named Cole (aka Cam in disguise).  Cam slowly brings her out of her shell piece by piece which would be fantastic if he wasn't telling her a huge lie about his identity. It's just when is the right time to tell someone that you have real feelings for that from the moment you met them you have been lying?

Loved the concept of the story!! I just can't help but melt at the idea of someone finally wanting to put someone else's wants and needs over their own! I would recommend reading the other stories first just because you will understand the other characters in the story more if you do (and plus you don't want spoilers for them).

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

I was really excited when I figured out this next book was going to be about Ben because after the second book I just wanted to know so much more about him. The story picks up really quick; it's one of my favorite things about this author she jumps right into the story and hooks you in so you don't have to wait a couple chapters to really get into it.

So Ben is Molly's ex-army brother who just came back from war and decides to move in with her. We got a little hint from the last book that he may have an eye for Taylor (one of Hannah's friends from work at the coffee shop). Sensing this attraction Molly doesn't hesitate to play matchmaker between the two of them even though Ben has said countless times that he does not want a girlfriend right now because of the demands of his new job.

Taylor on the other hand who is usually a strong and positive person goes through a pretty traumatic experience right off the bat putting her in more of a fragile state. Taylor still a little nervous from the event really just needs someone to be around her as she still gets scared by herself.

Taylor and Ben become close pretty quick but neither of them really know what to think of it as neither of them are really looking for a relationship. I loved the connection between the two of them it really felt like they entered into each others lives at the perfect time and were able to be what the other really needed.

I don't want to give away anything but I will say that I really enjoyed this story it was a quick fun read that kept putting a smile on my face. We still get a peek into the lives of the previous characters from this story which I love!! I cant wait for the next one, this time we got a hint so we know there will be another one; maybe Cam, maybe Taylor's roommate?!!

A Few Little Scars (How To Tame A Heartbreaker #2) by Casey McMillin

Review:
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

Before reading this book I highly recommend reading the first book in the series because some things you won't understand and well you will ruin the ending of the first book!

So this one has a little love triangle thing going on between Molly; the small town girl with big plans to move to Nashville, Nick; the super rich and successful business dude (I can't remember exactly what he does) and Zeke; the lead singer in a rock band!!

Molly is one of Hannah's (from the first book) best friends from home. So of course we get some more into Hannah and Jason life together!!

At first Molly really has a difficult time visiting Hannah for fear that with the fancy new lifestyle her best friend might not be the same person anymore! Add that she will be in the same room as famous people and she is kind of freaking out! She quickly realizes that Hannah is still the same person she grew up with and relaxes a little with the knowledge that her friendship is still intact but is still pretty intimated to meet all the new people in Hannah's life.

Going out in Nashville and meeting all Hannah's new friends she quickly notices Nick; and after a steamy run in (which I will not ruin for you!!) she can't stop daydreaming about him! She just as quickly realizes that daydreaming is as far as anything will ever go because people like him just do not date people like her. So even with her strong attraction to Nick and the fact that they will run in the same group of friends she doesn't hesitate to jump into a relationship with Zeke! Because well he might not be as hot as Nick, he is the lead singer in a band and really who could blame her.

What I liked in this story was the decision Molly faces; does she go with what feels comfortable for her or take a giant chance on something that she just doesn't see working out?

So once again another steamy romance that will leave you wanting more!! I can't decide what I want for the next book in the series. At first I was thinking I really want a book with either Hannah's friend Taylor or famous country star Cam Bishop but now after meeting Molly's brother (Ben) I want to know his story also!! I am almost thinking a Cam, Taylor, Ben love triangle?!! But then who would I root for?! Ahh all the possibilities!! Can't wait for the next one!!

Review:
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

I found myself smiling a lot during this one and I am not entirely sure why. I think part of the reason was the way the two of them interacted throughout the story; it was adorable.  I just loved how they flirted with each other.

Hannah just graduated high school is ready to spread her wings and test herself in a new city on her own. Jason is a very successful song writer who is used to getting exactly what he wants. I think what bonds the two of them together is how creative they both are.

I really liked Hannah in this story as I thought it was entertaining how she would turn people and certain situations into cartoons often in a comical way to portray them how they really are as opposed to how they present themselves in public. I also liked how she would be confident one moment and then have the "oh crap what did I do" moment not that long after. Because lets face it we have all been in situations with a guy where we decided to put ourselves out there in a moment of excitement and then quickly went "what was I thinking?!!" and search for a place to run and hide.

Jason on the other hand is very confident in himself as he has never really been denied before. Although it is clear the two of them are attracted to each other Hannah can't just ignore his promiscuous past.

Overall a fun read that you will not want to put down!! I had to force myself to put it down one night because it was way past when I should have been sleeping but then couldn't actually fall asleep because I was too excited about the book! I promise you will be in a happy giddy mood by the end of this one!

I can't wait to see how this plays out as a series; will it be Hannah and Jason throughout or are we going to get a new couple every book? I am guessing a new couple but who? I am thinking there could be something with the best friends but we shall see!!

Julien's Book by Casey McMillin

Julien's Book by Casey McMillin

Rating: 5/5

Review:
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

Let me start off by saying that I was nervous and a little skeptical to read this one as the author noted that it was different from her other books but I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved this one. So don't worry it is still a new adult love story with all the bells and whistles we love.

I feel like lately the books I have been reading all have the same story so getting to read this one that had such a new creative concept I was having a hard time not rushing the story because for once I didn't quite see where this was going.

Julien is a training to become the next greatest MMA fighter (so yeah hot, muscular and over course protective!!) when he catches the eye of an author who is captivated by his appearance featuring his unique birthmark he is all up for being her next muse. What he didn't expect was for an onslaught of girls coming to the gym pretending to his true love, Nadine. After a while the guys at the gym made a game out of every girl coming in claiming their name was Nadine and would come up with some reason for the girl to show ID proving the lie. Once the girls figured out they would eventually have to give their real names they would never come back.

Like with anything hype eventually died down at the gym and he was back to training his regulars until another Nadine shows up taking the charade a little too far, not matter what he did he couldn't get her to break character and admit she lied.

I really don't want to go into any more details about the story because I feel like each reader should get the pleasure of experiencing it unfold for themselves. Such a great concept from the author and  I am not so secretly hoping this becomes a series!!

Three Months and You're Mine by Casey McMillin

Three Months and You're Mine by Casey McMillin

Review
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

Let me start off by saying that I have been a fan of this series since the start but now I am torn to which book is my favorite!

Great fast paced story for those of us obsessed with New Adult books!! It has romance, lust, a girl figuring out what she wants in life and of course a hot guy with abs!!

This story follows Meredith (Collin's sister) and Zack and I just really liked how their story developed. From the beginning it was obvious that they had chemistry but they had a forbidden love thing going on as Zack is one of Collins best friends and has quite the reputation with the ladies.

Zack being the self proclaimed lifetime bachelor was not exactly mortified when Collins little sister, Meredith, texts him asking him to help her gain experience sexually without any strings attached but was hesitant as he knew Collin would just about kill him if he ever hurt his sister.

In Zacks mind he had the perfect soultion; tell her that she had to wait three months to make sure it was what she truly wanted. There is no way she will wait that long so he will be off the hook and now he doesn't have to say no and hurt her feelings.

Which was a great plan until she moved out to LA and was around all the time and he found that he might not be able to resist her as well as he originally thought.

At first they both they both tried to keep it almost like a business deal; Zack continued to encourage Mere to date and find someone who she actually liked to teach her and Mere actually taking that advice and trying to fall for someone.

Throughout the story Meredith went after whatever she wanted and was confident in herself. I feel like in most stories girls can be kind of annoying and always need a knight and shinning armor so it was like a fresh breathe of air.

The continuation from the other stories was also perfect in this book; It let me keep track of what was going on with everyone in the past stories that I fell in love with without losing who the story was actually about!

Ugh I don't know about anyone else but I am developing a thing for swimmer after this series ;)

Mind The Gap by Casey McMillin

Review

I received a copy from the author for my honest review.

The third book in the series, Second String, gave hints that the next book would be Josh's story and this was just that. Josh and Brit didn't get along right from the start. He thought she was an elitist hippy while she thought he was annoying know it all.

Brit is art student who kinda does her own thing, dresses how she want and does what she wants without caring what people think. She is a long time friend of Rachels and quickly becoming close with Rachels group of friends.

Josh is always serious and is pretty smart which tends to come across as rude if you don't know him. Josh is part of Collins group of friends/ex-swim team member and is planning to move to LA with the rest of his friends.

Brit and Josh gives the opposites attract saying a whole new meaning. The chemistry between the characters is very passionate and entertaining. And I really liked how they developed a love hate relationship. I also liked how they both dove into new lives and took big chances for their future.

As usual in this series we get to see more of the previous books which I love I just thought this one had a little too much of the rest of the characters in the series. It took me away from the love story at hand. While I did love the Brit and Josh I just wanted a little bit more to fully be immersed into their story.

Overall this is a good series; its fast paced with loads of passion that take you into another world which lets face thats why we read these books!

Can't wait to see whats next!!

Review
I was so excited when I got an e-mail tonight from the author about the release tomorrow and even better than that she sent me the book! Although this author did send my the book the review is my honest opinion of the story.

And let me tell you it did not disappoint. So the focus in this book was on Emily and Ethan while of course keeping in touch with the characters from the first two books.

Emily and Ethan share a strong attraction to each other but are determined to keep things casual as Ethan is a well known ladies man and Emily is waiting for her high school sweetheart to get his act together and finally be with her the way she has always dreamed of.

Although they live hours apart they seem to find any reason to be near each other and can't seem to fight the chemistry between them. Ethan and Emily are both a little guarded as they are heading into unfamiliar territory but can't seem to help themselves. At least not until the past threatens to ruin everything.

I also felt a little bit more connected to this story as I could relate to Emily's struggle to figure out who she truly is now compared to the vision she had of herself growing up.

Whew! Overall I loooved this story! I was a little skeptical because again I just wanted more from the previous books but Ethan and Emily hooked me in just as much as Rachel and Gretchen, I was so sad when it ended I just wanted a little bit more.

At the end it did suggest a fourth book was coming our way. I don't know any details but  if i had to guess I would probably say it will be about Josh (Ethan's roommate) but who knows!

Seeing Clearly by Casey McMillin

Review

I really really enjoyed this book; this is everything I want from a new adult romance! It had a great love story along with being very steamy.

When I saw what this book was about I have to say I was a little disappointed because I was expecting a continuation of the first book not another love story from characters from the first one. That being said I am so happy this is the route the author took!

In the first book, Three Years Later, Gretchen was the very likable best friend/assistant to Rachel.

So where the first book was very fast paced and suspenseful this one took a little longer for the relationship to form (don't get me wrong you will read it quickly and won't be able to put it down).

Gretchen and Joel meet in the first book and although it is clear there is an attraction between them they both seem to want to keep their relationship in the friend zone. When the second book starts it is clear that they both are still trying to keep things platonic but are struggling as jealousy is getting the better of them.

Once Gretchen and Joel finally start to realize how far they have really fallen they come across some very big obstacles that may be too big to overcome. The connection between the two alone kept me from being able to put this book down and of course that fact that we still get a glimpse into Rachel and Collin!!

Can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book! This author has hooked me as a fan and will be grabbing any book she puts out. It seems like she also set this book up so a third can be written so let's keep our finger crossed!

Three Years Later by Casey McMillin

Three Years Later (In Too Deep) by Casey McMillin

Review:
This book drew me in right away; I started this book thinking I would just read a chapter or two and go to bed ; a little over two hours later I begrudgingly conceded as I had to get up in the morning.  This book was short but cute; a nice easy fun read that left you in a good mood.

I also fell in love with the characters right away, I loved how Rachel and Collin had that immediate connection. I mean who doesn't daydream about love at first sight?

I loved the premise of the whole story; meeting someone and only spending one afternoon with them and knowing that they are the one you are meant to be with. I loved how neither of them really got over the brief encounter the had three years prior so when they finally see each other again they both knew their lives would forever be changed.

The only thing I didn't really like was the abrupt end, i felt jipped to the point where I thought something was wrong with my kindle and it wouldn't let me turn the page. The story literally ended in the middle of a party where someone was about to give a speech; weirdest cliff hanger ever!!

Reading other reviews some people really didn't like the story as they thought it felt rushed, unrealistic and without true barriers. I almost would say that is what I loved about it; sometimes you just want a happy quick read to put you in a better mood and that book did just that (well until the end).

I am really looking forward to the next book (on the books goodreads page it looks like the next book titled Seeing Clearly (In Too Deep #2)  is set to be released July 1st, 2013). I just hope the next book is a little more complete. Side note the book cover for the next book is not that impressive :(

Whoa.. Upon deeper research on the second book it appears that it is not a continuation of the second but a new story that follow Rachel's friend Gretchen. Not pleased...not that I don't love a series that has love stories of all the people involved but for the first one to end so abruptly it was expected that the book to follow would be about the same couple.
